How to Flash Vivo Y83 – Actually, besides being able to fix various software problems in Vivo Y83 phones, flashing can also be used for other things. An example is updating the operating system to be newer or just trying a new custom ROM that is different from the original ROM / Firmware. Here I have also provided a download link for the ROM / firmware Vivo Y83 found below.
Vivo Y83 is one of the newest smartphones introduced by Vivo in May. This smartphone has a notch with screen measuring 6.22 inches, and resolution of 720 x 1520 pixels.

Vivo Y83 comes with a Mediatek Helio P22 processor and PowerVR GE8320. Vivo Y83 runs on Funtouch OS 4 based on Android 8.1 Oreo.
Vivo Y83 comes with 4 GB RAM and 64 GB internal storage. One of the attractions offered by Vivo is the presence of good cameras on the rear with cheap price at about only 250 Euro.
This dual camera carries a 13 which is equipped with LED Flash. While the selfie camera use 8 MP. Other spesifications and features of Vivo Y83 are IPS LCD screen and 3260 mAh Li-Po battery.
Although the actual flashing process of the Vivo Y83 itself is not difficult, friends who want to try it must be more careful because if one chooses the firmware it could be that your cellphone cannot be turned on again, or commonly called the bootloop term.
While the flashing process of Android itself can be interpreted as a reinstall if applied to a computer or laptop. Flashing is commonly used to correct various problems such as
- Vivo Y83 bootloop.
- Vivo Y83 forgets passwords.
- Vivo Y83 restarts itself.
- Vivo Y83 only vibrates or
- Vivo Y83 is totally off or hardbrick.
Actually the various problems above can be caused by the users themselves or even a small part due to system errors. And if a problem occurs as mentioned above, flashing is needed to fix it.
Before carrying out the flashing process of the Vivo Y83, note some of the requirements below.
- I suggest to do the data backup process first because this process will eliminate all data in the cellphone.
- The cellphone battery must be more than 50% so the process can run smoothly.
- Download all files below.
ROM above is a global version of ROM, so there is Indonesian in it.
If all the above requirements succeed, you meet, now is the time to do the flashing process.
STEP #1. Extract the file that was downloaded above and install the USB Driver on your computer by right-clicking> Run as Administrator.

Select “Install this driver anyway” to continue the install process

The MTK USB Driver Install process works if there is a notification in the CMD window as below.

STEP #2. Extract the file “Tool Flash Vivo” that was downloaded earlier, then install PDAnet.exe and CodeMeterRuntime.exe
STEP #3. Then open CodeMeter Control Center and select File> Import License> then select the VivoMsmDownloadToolNoneLic_2001.WibuCmRau file in the Vivo all tool folder.

STEP #4. If it’s correct, then the CodeMeter Control Center application will look like this.

STEP #5. After that, extract the downloaded firmware and right-click> run as administrator in the DownloadTool.exe application
The process of entering lisence above is useful to avoid the “CmDongle runtime error” warning that can occur when you first open the DownloadTool application. The following is the display of the DownloadTool application when it was first opened.

STEP #6. Then press Start All and wait until the process is complete as shown below.

STEP #7. Now when the cellphone is off, press and hold the volume button up and down simultaneously then plug it into the PC using a USB cable.
STEP #8. If all processes have been done correctly, the DownloadTool application will start the process of flashing the ROM or the latest Vivo Y83 firmware.

STEP #9. Wait until the flash process ends, after the flash process has been successful at 100%, then the display of DownloadTool will be like this.

STEP #10. The Vivo Y83 cellphone friend will reboot automatically when the flash process is complete, just wait until the phone turns on again. But remember, this reboot will take a little while, so please be patient.
If the flashing process stops at the yellow bar, then try to repeat installing the USB Driver or try to restart the PC first. After you finish flashing, you can try the Vivo Y83 root process . See you in my next article at HowToApps.info.
